Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse was released over the weekend and is already being regarded by many as one of the best comic-book movies of all time. With a 97% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, critics are even saying that it is the best Spider-Man film yet, which is a pretty bold thing to say when you consider the six films that came before it. Spidey isn’t the only web-slinger making waves in the news recently.
Last month, Venom reportedly brought in a whopping $822 million worldwide at the box office. It has now surpassed Wonder Woman and even Spider-Man: Homecoming, despite being panned by critics. Sadly, there are no current plans to have Spider-Man and his anti-hero counterpart cross paths anytime soon, but that hasn’t stop fans from dreaming.
Miles Morales voice actor Shameik Moore recently said in an interview that he would like to portray the character in the MCU, and he would also love to square off with Tom Hardy.
“I definitely want to be the live-action Miles Morales,” Moore said. “I understand that he’s a young kid, but hopefully, you know, they can play with time and put me in there. I would love to be fighting Venom as Miles, with Tom Hardy. You know what I mean? That would be great. I would love to play on screen with my favorite actor out right now.”
Venom and Miles are no strangers to each other since the two have tangled in the past. Even the Venom series that was released earlier this year had Mile Morales playing a major role in Venom’s comic book.
Moore believes that there is a possibility that the crossover could happen, considering that there was an extended preview for Into The Spider-Verse in the end credits for Venom.
“At the end of the movie, they show our clip, ‘Into the Spider-Verse,’ at the end of the Venom. I think that’s a seed. It just has to be. I look like Mile Morales. All I have to do is cut my hair so let’s make it happen.”
Would you like to see a live-action Mile Morales go toe to toe with Tom Hardy, or should Tom Holland be the one to get the first crack at him?
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is currently in theaters everywhere.
